Draft of 5 November 2026.
1. About these terms
This website, "WFM – Beyond the Spreadsheet", is run by WFM – Beyond the Spreadsheet (an independent, unregistered project; not a company) ("we", "us"). It is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for any employer, client, customer or software vendor.
By using the site you agree to these terms, the house rules, the privacy policy and the cookie policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Who may use the site
- You must be 18 or over. The members area is for adults who work in, or are learning about, contact centres, BPOs and workforce management, in any role.
- If you use the site for work, you confirm that your employer allows it.
- We may refuse or end access to anyone, at our discretion, subject to the law.
3. Your account (members area)
- You sign in with a LinkedIn or Google account. We do not receive or store your password for those services.
- New members are approved by us. Approval is at our discretion, and your first posts may be held for review.
- One account per person. Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give us accurate information. Do not pretend to be someone else.
4. What you may and may not post
The house rules are part of these terms. In particular, you must not post:
- information that belongs to, or is confidential to, your employer, a client or a customer, including names, data, documents, recordings and screenshots;
- personal information about any person without a lawful basis, including real agent or customer details;
- anything unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, hateful or sexual;
- anything that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- malware, spam, advertising, recruiting messages or deceptive content;
- AI-generated content presented as verified fact, or presented as a person's own experience when it is not.
5. Your content and our licence
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, format and distribute your content on and in connection with the site, for as long as it is on the site and for a reasonable period afterwards in backups.
You promise that you have the right to post what you post, that it does not breach any duty of confidentiality or contract you owe to anyone (including your employer or a client), and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. If you delete content, we will remove it from public view. Copies in backups, and quotations in other members' replies, may remain for a time.
6. Moderation and removal
We may review, hold, edit for formatting, remove or restrict any content, and suspend or end any account, at our discretion and to enforce these terms. If we suspect that confidential or personal information has been posted, we may remove it first and review it afterwards. We are not obliged to monitor content, and we do not guarantee that everything posted by members is accurate, lawful or appropriate.
To report content, use the report page.
7. Our content, tools and demos
- We own, or have the right to use, the site's design, code, text and graphics. All rights reserved.
- You may use the calculators, prompts and templates for your own work. Do not copy the site, scrape it, resell it or pass it off as your own.
- Product and company names belong to their owners and appear for identification only.
8. AI, calculators and information
The site is educational. Demos run on fictional data and are illustrative. Calculators give estimates based on simplified models. AI-generated or AI-assisted content may be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Nothing here is professional, legal, HR, financial or data protection advice. You are responsible for checking anything before you rely on it, and for decisions you make. See the disclaimer.
9. Third-party links and sign-in
We link to other sites and use LinkedIn and Google for sign-in. We do not control them, and their terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
10. Availability
We provide the site free of charge and "as is". We may change, pause or stop any part of it at any time. We do not promise that it will always be available or error-free.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we give no warranty that the site or its content is accurate, complete, suitable for your purpose or free of defects;
- we are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special loss, or for loss of profit, income, data, goodwill or employment, arising from your use of the site or from content posted by you or others; and
- our total liability to you for any claim connected with the site is limited to R1 000.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 where it applies, or liability for intentional wrongdoing or gross negligence.
12. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to protect us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal costs) that arise from content you post or from your breach of these terms, including any breach of confidentiality you owe to an employer, client or customer.
13. Privacy and cookies
How we handle personal information is explained in the privacy policy. How the site stores information in your browser is explained in the cookie policy.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell members, for example by a notice on the site or by email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
15. Ending your use
You can stop using the site at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms. Clauses that by their nature should survive (such as content licences, liability and governing law) continue after your access ends.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of South Africa, starting in the High Court of South Africa, KwaZulu-Natal Division, Durban, without limiting any right you have to approach another forum where the law gives you that right.
